Description
Workmen passing up heated rivets to riveters for use in attaching bottom plating, while the ship was undergoing repairs in dry dock at the New York Navy Yard, circa February-May 1919. Northern Pacific had been damaged in an accidental grounding off Fire Island, N.Y., on 1 January 1919. Note the rivet heating braziers in the center and right center.
