This advertisement card highlights the services of the firm Butts & Phillips in processing veteran's claims for pensions, back pay, and land bounties. Headquartered in Washington, DC the firm also had a branch on Willoughby Street not far from the Brooklyn Navy Yard. On the reverse is an excerpt of the poem "How Sheridan Came" by Thomas Chalmers Harbaugh.
