Description
Five scans of three original documents pertaining to Mr. Monroe Gluck's service to the Brooklyn Navy Yard and the United States Army during World War II. The documents include" 1. a "Recognition of Service" from the United States Navy honoring Mr. Gluck's contributions at the New York (Brooklyn) Navy Yard, dated 1945, 2. An "Honorable Discharge" notice from the United States Army dated January 5th, 1946, and 3. a "Separation Qualification Document" that details the training Mr. Gluck received as part of his service with the Army as well as his work as a shipfitter at the Brooklyn Navy Yard.

Mr. Gluck worked at the Brooklyn Navy Yard for three months in 1942 as an assistant shipfitter. In 1943 he joined the Army where he served as a cannoneer in the Bismarch Archipelago and Northern Solomons. He received an Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal and Victory Medal. He was wounded and honorably discharged on January 5, 1946.
