Description
Stoneware jug with blue glaze flower motif painted near the shoulder. "T. G. Boone and Sons, Potters" and "Navy St. Brooklyn" are pressed into the clay. Salvaged from Vinegar Hill.

Thomas G. Boone moved to Brooklyn from Poughkeepsie in 1839 and began a pottery manufacturing buisness in 1840 on Sands and Navy Streets. He solely managed the facility until 1842 whereafter his sons Benjamin and Thomas E. Boone joined him. Thomas G. Boone retired in 1846. He died in 1860.
