Donald Crist was born in 1933 in Newport, and joined the United States Navy in 1950. He served on the USS Missouri between 1950 and 1953, during the Korean War. The USS Missouri (BB-63), also known as “Mighty Mo,” was built at the New York Naval Shipyard. Crist was assigned making steam to drive to ship's turbine engines. In 2002, he began building a model of the USS Missouri, which he later donated to the Brooklyn Navy Yard Center. He died on April 1, 2009 in Millersburg, PA.

- This collection contains a 1/96 scale model of the USS Missouri. Associated material, such as newspapers about the model and its creator, Donald Crist are included, as well as ephemera about the USS Missouri, such as a cruise book and anniversary pamphlet.
